Frequently Asked Questions
What is Ultracera®?
Ultracera® is a next-generation, zero-crystalline-silica surface crafted from refined synthetic white clay and a matured resin system. Developed through a long-term mineral maturation process, Ultracera blends the beauty of natural stone with the safety, consistency, and durability of advanced engineering — a new category beyond quartz and porcelain.
What is the difference between Ultracera and Quartz?
Quartz surfaces are made from natural quartz crystals bound with resin. Ultracera, however, is engineered from refined Bio-Terra® clay minerals containing less than 1% crystalline silica. Both are pressed and cured under heat, but Ultracera’s matured structure offers a denser body, a softer touch, and a safer fabrication experience free from harmful silica dust.
What is the difference between Ultracera and Sintered Stone?
Sintered stone is fired at extremely high temperatures, fusing minerals like clay and silica into a porcelain-like surface. Ultracera matures its minerals and resin through chemical integration rather than firing — producing a jade-like warmth and enhanced flexibility for cutting, edging, and installation.
Sintered stone is fired. Ultracera is matured. Each is engineered differently for different design needs.
What is Ultracera® made of?
Every Ultracera slab is composed of refined Bio-Terra® clay minerals, matured resin binders, pigments, and decorative elements —all pressed and cured at 105–110°C for over 120 minutes. The result is a solid, non-porous, high-performance claystone body with consistent quality and long-term stability.
Is Ultracera a resin surface?
Yes. Ultracera uses a stable, cobalt-free, matured resin system that reduces internal stress and enhances surface density. This gives each slab a warm, natural feel and excellent dimensional stability compared to traditional resin-based materials.
Is Ultracera heat resistant? Can I put hot cookware on it?
Ultracera has been dry-heat tested to 180–200°C. Short, incidental contact with hot cookware is acceptable, but for best practice and longevity, use trivets or mats — just as you would with any premium surface.
Where can I view or order Ultracera samples?
You can request free Ultracera samples through our website or contact your local distributor or fabricator. Samples let you experience the unique warmth, texture, and color tone of Ultracera before final selection.
Can Ultracera be fabricated with standard quartz tools?
Yes. Ultracera can be fabricated with standard quartz tools and CNC equipment, but it produces much lower dust and smoother cutting. Always follow standard safety procedures and consult our fabrication guide for best practices.
